vp wright (she/they),
head mentor + program creator
vp wright (she/they) — call them vee — is a 26-year-old, Black, multi-ethnic non-binary human living in the tropics of Houston, Texas. vee is the founder of The creative’s corner™ community, and the curriculum writer and head mentor of The inclusive entrepreneur™ group mentorship program.
Before launching their own business — the creative’s corner™ — vee worked in the music business industry as a venue manager for a local coffee shop and music venue in Houston called Cafeza. vee recognized that there was a gap in the creative industry when it came to leaning into their own identity to build a sustainable community around their creative businesses, and launched the creative’s corner™ in august 2019 to assist in coaching and mentorship through the creative communities business-building process.
vee’s Bachelor’s degree in comparative ethnic studies, women’s studies, and global leadership allowed for an integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism to inform their framework, which has challenged the online business and coaching industry to “do business differently” when it comes to the treatment of marginalized populations, accessible pricing, ethical payment plans, and creating identity-led communities that ARen’t just another sales funnels.
when they aren’t taping away at the computer, you can find vee enjoying their time with their spouse and two children, playing the sims, writing some poetry, salsa dancing, or cuddling on the couch in the middle of a harry potter, star wars, or all marvel movies, marathon.
vee believes that intersectionality — coined by kimberle Williams crenshaw — is the key to creating a more empathic, equitable world and that identity is “what makes us who we are while also highlighting our similarities as humans beings.” their workbook — inclusive strategies for you coaching business — highlights their methodology used with additional resources to dive deeper into this belief.
“If one of us is discrimated againist, then all of us are being discrimiated againist. we have to do business differently in order to create an equitable world for all.”
